The Hi Swivel skip gives optimum performance when space is at a premium, by enabling the skip to be raised as well as rotate through 180°. It has a fully welded 6 mm steel plate skip with reinforced box section fitted to the mouth and sides to minimise skip damage. Additional equipment fitted to individual models varies, but may include a folding ROPS frame, towing bracket, beacons, LED road lighting, etc.

It is powered by four lithium-ion (dry-cell) batteries, operating at 48V. Each battery is rated at 5.75kWh, driving one motor for traction and another for hydraulic tipping.

The electric drive 3-tonne dumper has a similar unladen weight to the diesel/hydrostatic version but with the main battery pack and driveline components now sitting lower in the rear chassis, it has a lower centre of gravity and thus better stability.

The standard on-board 3.4kW battery charger can charge the pack from 0-100% in eight hours. Optional off-board chargers rated at 7kW (single-phase) and 22kW (three-phase) have charge times of four hours and two hours respectively.

The machine is powered by four maintenance-free lithium-ion batteries with a system voltage of 48 V and a total capacity of 22 kWh. The battery pack drives two highly efficient electric motors (one for traction, one for the hydraulic services) giving the operator the control and manoeuvrability expected from a Thwaites dumper.

The Thwaites electric wheel dumper with 180° rotatable high dump bucket (Hi-Swivel) is designed with performance, safety and the environment in mind. Charging is possible via a standard 230 V socket or with an external fast charger, ensuring maximum flexibility on the construction site.

Each dumper is equipped as standard with:

• ROPS safety roll bar;
• Tow bar;
• LED beacon;
• Full LED Road lighting including daytime running lights;
• Acoustic reversing alarm.

ROPS+ is an extension of the Roll Over Protection System (ROPS). Made from the same high-tensile steel, the wrap-around design places the operator in the optimum position to minimise risk, should a machine roll over occur.
