Limited-run high-performance version of the Coupé Fiat 2.0 20v Turbo, presented at the Paris Motor Show in September 1998. The model featured a series of technical and visual enhancements focused on sportiness and driving performance. It was equipped with a 2.0-litre five-cylinder 20-valve turbocharged engine producing 220 hp (162 kW), paired with a six-speed manual transmission. The revised gear ratios improved acceleration and emphasized a more dynamic driving character. Chassis upgrades included a front strut brace supplied by Sparco, increasing bodyshell rigidity, and cross-drilled front brake discs with red calipers, contributing to improved braking performance. The exterior was distinguished by body-coloured bumpers and side skirts, front spoilers, and titanium-finished details such as light surrounds, mirrors, fuel cap, and alloy wheels. Red accents on badges and wheel hubs echoed the brake components and engine elements. Inside, the car featured a sporty interior with black and red leather Recaro seats and matching red seat belts. Additional highlights included titanium-finish trim, anodised aluminium pedals and footrests, and leather-trimmed steering wheel, gear knob, and handbrake with red inserts. A push-button engine start, inspired by motorsport, further emphasised the model’s performance-oriented character.

Lotis Elise Sport 135 was first launched as a limited run of 50 cars in November 1998 (VINs: ##5401-5450). It has some improvements to increase the power of K-series engine from 118bhp to 135bhp but actually haing about 145 bhp. Other additions include close-ratio gearbox, sports exhaust, drilled brake discs (cast iron), blue tinted metallic silver paint (Quicksilver), dark blue hood, corbeau sport seats, silver roll over bar, racing steering wheel, headlamp covers, driving lights, and unique Sport 135 body graphics. The catalytic converter is replaced by a through pipe which means the car has to be homologated and this is the main reason for the limited first production run.

The second batch of cars were produced for the 1999 model year (VINs ##6001-6035) and had 111S wheels, tyres and spats, black painted fuel filler cap, matt finish alloy gear knob and Sport 135 '99' decal.

• отсутствует несчастливый номер 13;
• 3 автомобиля с номером 000 были созданы для Колина Макрэя (Colin McRae), Никки Гриста (Nicky Grist) и Дэвида Лапворта (David Lapworth);
• 24 автомобиля были сделаны для распространения вне Японии. Из этих 24 штук 16 прибыли в Великобританию и стали известны как "22В Type UK". Оставшиеся 8 разошлись по миру и частным коллекционерам, в числе которых фигурирует и сам Султан Брунея.
